Malaika Arora is an Indian actress, dancer, model, VJ and television presenter. He is best known for singing in 1989’s Chayya Chaiya (1998), Guru Nalo Ishq Mitha (1998), Mahi We (2002), Kal Dhamal (2005) and Munni Badnam Hui (2010). She became a filmmaker in 2008 with her ex-husband Arbaaz Khan.

His mother Joyce Polycarp is Malayali and his father Anil Arora was a Punjabi and from Fazilka, a village near the Indian border. Arora worked in the Merchant Navy. They are Catholic. She also has a sister named Amrita Arora and is also an actress.

Malaika did her studies from Swami Vivekananda School, Chembur. His aunt, Grace Polycarp was the principal of the school. She has been an alumna of Holly Cross High School Thane, from where she studied up to ninth grade. He completed his college from Jai Hind College, Churchgate. She used to live in the Basla Talkies Opposite Borla Society in Chembur before starting a modeling career.

Arora was chosen as one of the VJs when MTV India started its operations. He began working as an interviewer, hosting shows such as Club MTV,  and later co-hosting shows Love Line and Style Check with Cyrus Broacha. Malaika then entered the modeling world, appearing in several commercials, such as songs like Balli Sagoo’s “Gur Nalo Ishq Meetha” opposite Jaili Arora and item numbers such as “Chaiyya Chaiyya” in the 1998 Bollywood film Dil Se.

In the 2000s, in addition to featuring item numbers for various films, he made cameo appearances in only a few films. In 2008, she appeared in her first leading acting role in the film EMI, which failed at the box-office.

In 2010, she starred in the item song “Munni Badnaam Hui” in the film Dabangg, produced by her former husband Arbaaz Khan. On 12 March 2011, he helped to create a world record with 1235 contestants presenting dance forms in “Munni Badnaam” which he led.

She was a Taiwan Excellence Celebrity Endorser in 2012. He supported Dabur’s 30-plus.  She says that she never wanted to act. She performed live with Atif Aslam, Shaan and Bipasha Basu in a series of concerts at LG Arena in Birmingham and O2 Arena in London.

In 2014, she confirmed that she was an action comedy-drama film Happy New Year directed by Farah Khan!

Malaika appeared in the television show Nach Baliye as one of the three judges. [2] The show aired on Star One in mid-2005. She continued as a judge on Nach Baliye 2, which began airing in the last quarter of 2006. In this show he did several item numbers as an example for contestants. Malaika Arora was born in a Punjabi Khatri family in Chembur, Mumbai. His father, Anil Arora, who served in the Merchant Navy and his mother Joyce Polycarp, Malacca were just 11 years old when their parents separated.

In 1993, Arbaaz first met for commercial advertising for coffee. The two fell apart after 19 years of their marriage. The couple have a son named Arhan, born on 9 November 2002.


After separating from Arbaaz, Arhaan’s custody goes to Malaika, while Arbaaz has the rights to meet. His former father-in-law is an Indian screenwriter, Salim Khan and his former brother; Sohail Khan and Salman Khan. Arjun Kapoor is said to be his alleged boyfriend, and the couple has often been seen together.

Malaika Arora studied at Holy Cross High School Thane till the 8th grade. He completed his secondary schooling from Swami Vivekananda School, Chembur. After completing her schooling, she joined Jai Hind College, Church Hit College but could not complete her graduation due to her work commitments.

When MTV started working in India, Malaika Arora was one of the few VJs who got selected. He hosted the show ‘Club MTV’ for the first time. He did many advertisements for various brands. He was featured in the album song; “Good Nalo Ishq Mitha” opposite Bali Sagoo and Jas Arora.

In 1998, his item number, chaiyya chaiyya, from the film Dil Se, earned him much fame and recognition.

In 2008, she made her first lead role in the film, EMI, which became a major flop at the box office. She made the film, Dabangg, under the production house of her ex-husband, in which she did item number ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’.

In an interview, she said that she never wanted to work in films. Malaika also judged the show, Nach Baliye 1, Nach Baliye 2, Zara Nachke Dikha and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. She has also been a judge on India’s next Top Model Show.
