Tiger Fall is a beautiful place located around 17 kilometers from Chakrata in terms of sightseeing. This fall is so beautiful that I will not feel like coming back from here. To reach Tiger Fall, you have to descend a steep slope about one and a half kilometers from the road. On the road itself, you will find children from villages around here who are ready to carry your luggage. For 100-200 rupees, they bring you back to the road.
Chakrata is close to old, it is a large meadow. This place is covered with snow during the winter season, here you can also enjoy the cold games. This field is surrounded by dense pine forests, which is one of the most dense forests in Asia.
Chirmiri is about 4 kilometers from Chakrata. This area provides the best view of the sunset.
On the Mussoorie-Chakrata-Tuni highway, 31 kilometers from Chakrata is Koti-Kanasar Bugyal (Velvet Meadow). It is surrounded by pine forests at an altitude of 8500 feet above sea level. Lakhamandal is located at a height of 1372 meters above sea level, 62 kilometers from Chakrata. There is a collection of 1.25 lakh Shivalingas in this entire area of Lakhmandal. The height of the ancient Shiva temple of Lakhamandal situated on the banks of river Yamuna is 18.5 feet.
This Shiva temple built in Chhatra style was built by Ishwara, the princess of the Yadav dynasty of Sinhapur, in memory of her husband King Chandragupta of Jalandhar. The temple is built of large stone blocks. The inscription found here mentions the Brahmi script and the Sanskrit language. Chinese traveler Xuanzang also traveled to Lakhamandal.
The temple is said to be of the 8th century. However, the locals call it Pandavas.
Mahasu Devta Temple, Chakrata
The temple of Siddhapeetha Mahasu Devta is located at Hanol. Built in the Nagara style, this temple is situated at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level. From Dehradun, Hanol can be reached via Mussoorie-Purola, Vikasnagar-Chakrata or Haripur-Minas. Mahasu is the deity of the local people.
